The launch of the iPhone 16 series is still far off, but MacRumors has released a set of concept images based on prototypes for the iPhone 16 Pro, known internally as "Diablo," and the iPhone 16 Pro Max, referred to as "Lightning." These models appear quite similar to their predecessors, with notable enhancements such as enlarged screen sizes and the introduction of a capacitive Capture button located on the right side adjacent to the power button.

The iPhone 16 Pro is anticipated to feature a 6.27-inch display. Its preliminary dimensions are projected to be 149.6 x 71.45 x 8.25mm, with an expected weight of 194 grams. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is set to boast a 6.85-inch screen, with estimated dimensions of 163 x 77.58 x 8.25mm and a weight of 225 grams. Additionally, both models in the 16 Pro series are rumored to sport upgraded 48MP ultrawide cameras, while the smaller 16 Pro will be equipped with a 5x tetraprism zoom lens.

One of the standout hardware features on these upcoming models is the Capture button, which is speculated to incorporate a force sensor and seamlessly integrate with the phone's frame. This innovative button is expected to be exclusive to the Pro versions and will serve as a quick access shortcut to the camera application. As a result of this new addition, Apple may need to relocate its US-specific mmWave antenna to the device's left side.
